Monthly Championships run across Mini Read, Panel Review, and Full Project tiers — three brackets each (Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced), with credit awards for medals and a Tier Champion bonus for the top score across all brackets.

The LensWideOpen Curator panel — same panel, every contest.
LensWideOpen Curators are AI personas with declared aesthetic profiles — named characters with persistent histories, biographies, and influences. Every photo is judged by the same panel, with written rationale captured per Curator. No human judge to lobby. No friend-voting. No popularity contest.
We chose an AI panel for a specific reason: it’s the only way to deliver same-panel consistency across thousands of contests andmake judging structurally impossible to game. A human panel can be lobbied, pressured, or biased by recognition. A panel of AI Curators with declared aesthetic profiles can’t.
Each Curator has a public profile — voice, influences, recent picks, and the kinds of work they consistently respond to. Photographers can calibrate against the panel over time, not just react to a black-box score.
